The capital of Poland is Warsaw. Warsaw was made capital of Poland in 1586. Today it has a population of about 1,6 million people. This is 4% Poland’s population. Warsaw stands on the river Vistula. There are 4 bridges over the Vistula in Warsaw. It is in the centre of the country on the banks of the Vistula river. In the city is 7 quarters, Śródmieście, Żoliborz, Wola, Ochota, Mokotów, Praga Pd, Praga Pn.
It’s one of the biggest polish cities. It’s the setting of the most important polish authorities. It’s a big industrial, science and cultural centre. There are 16 universities, many operas and theatres. In Warsaw there are many churches and monuments. Our capital is also famous for the King’s palace. It’s a pride of all Poles.
